Details
This is the browser experiment. You can use it here without installing anything.
Browsers limit what a website can access on your computer, so some features may be unavailable here. A desktop version can usually work more directly with your files, folders, devices, or operating system.
How this browser version works
- Explains what a code usually means and what to check. It can’t diagnose your vehicle, and a code doesn’t prove which part failed.
- Starts with a set of common generic engine and transmission codes (P0xxx). Manufacturer-specific codes and body, chassis, and network codes aren’t included yet.
- Results are generic. Entering your vehicle doesn’t change them yet, and your manufacturer’s service information may call for different tests.
- Runs from a code list built into the page. Nothing you enter is saved or sent.
What a desktop version could offer
- A larger code library that works offline in the garage.
- Save the codes and notes for each of your vehicles over time.
